TFGIF

Ok, seriously guys. This week went by quickly but the afternoon is just dragging ass for me...

Yesterday we got what was supposed to be a super storm and it ended up being weak sauce. Maybe like 5 inches of snow accumulated so when I woke up I got the hubs on shovel duty.

My back has been kuh-illing me lately! Like seriously. Every afternoon around the same time it's just a sudden pain in the same spot of my back so I'm just trying my best lately to deal with that pain. And maybe, hopefully, get some sympathy chores done by the husband... or just sympathy favors. Such as having him get me drinks when I'm watching TV.

Of course the hubs had a really interesting comment the other day regarding my back pain:

"I think I would be better at being pregnant because I have such a high pain tolerance!"

Thanks for the vote of confidence there hubs.

Let's just say I've seen when parts of him get hit and he doesn't act so tough...

Anyways - TFGIF everyone! I hope you all have some fun plans!

Well, I have some news to share. But social decorum states that I shouldn't share until the 2nd tri... oh wait. That kind of spills the beans there. Ok, I'm pregnant! And right now the pee is barely dry on the test and I'm being conservative in who I tell... that's about all I'm conservative about haha. But then again, I have already told a community of people online who are all very happy for me.

Backing up... as you all remember, I went through a loss in May. As I write this at the end of October I have to tell you that from the date of my loss until the point of getting that 2nd line on the stick it only got marginally easier. I still cried and probably will continue to cry and mourn my loss. But now I can say "Today I am pregnant and I love my baby."

Initial thoughts:
  • My instinct says this time around it's a boy. Don't know why, I just feel stronger about it being a boy than a girl.
  • It doesn't feel real yet.
  • I'm thankful that I don't have to spend my former due date (12-5-12) not pregnant. There was a lot of stress there.
I can't wait until I can shout it from the rooftops! But until then I'm keeping it quiet.

First ultrasound: November 21, 2012. That's 3 weeks from today!

Excited for a fun weekend/Xmas!

I'm really excited that tonight after work - the hubs and I are going to be in Omaha visiting the SIL/BIL (that's sister/brother in-law for you non message boarders). Tomorrow the FIL and MIL will be there too!

Rumor has it that we're going to a piano bar tonight! I freaking love piano bars... and I don't go to them nearly enough. All the singing and good times had by everyone involved is just a good time.

I promise to take pictures and show some family updates :)

It's been a while...

It's hard to write about the goings on in your life when you feel like there really hasn't been much to update everyone about. But it's been a while. So I guess I'll share with you a few things going on in my life recently.

We had a thanksmas celebration with my side of the family at our house over Thanksgiving! My family does a secret santa exchange every year and I got James. I feel like I get him every other year!! The reason I remember is because he's notorious for not updating his wish list, however this year he was on top of it and I bought him some rockin' camping gear. I hope that he gets to use it on next year's RAGBRAI because I don't forsee any camping going on for a few months at least.

Tonight we're supposed to be experiencing snowmeggedon 2012. Well fudge because as it turns out, procrastinating to buy a snowblower is a bad idea. We do have one SNOW shovel, but my husband will tell you the gardening shovel that's like 8 inches wide counts as a snow shovel...

This driveway takes no prisoners.
Brian and I have been to several ISU basketball games this year which he details about in his blog. Personally, I couldn't tell you one team we saw play against with the exception of Drake. Oh wells.

We have some family plans coming up for Christmas with the Saltons so I'm excited to see the in-laws! It'll be fun to get out of town for a long weekend and go out in Omaha!!

Alright that's enough for now. What's new with you?
