Purple Eco-Confetti Party

I can't even tell you how excited I am to use this stuff at my our wedding... It's called Eco-Confetti and it's the new thing in weddings I guess.  My mom and I were talking about the typical things that people do when you're leaving the church and my original idea was to throw lavender, which would have been perfect because purple is our color (with white/black I guess) but couldn't do so because the church has rules about throwing actual flowers.

Basically this stuff is what they use for movies when they want to create the look of snow falling.  Only they've obviously went and dyed this stuff many different colors!  It dissolves in water so let mother nature clean up after us!

SO EXCITED but slightly nervous it will be rainy on the wedding day and the water soluble confetti won't be used... cross your fingers!

Soldier Field Run Y'all!

Hey blog readers!  I have an announcement!

I am running in a 10 mile race on May 28th and the finish line is on the 50 yard line of SOLDIER FIELD where the Bears play!

I just had to announce this because I just officially registered.  I can't wait to start training (I'm sort of serious here!).

For the record, I'm not planning on getting a special time for this one, my only goal is to finish - not even to run non-stop because I'm positive there will be plenty of walking breaks!

LOVING LIFE!  How are you?

5k Results

I am really proud of myself today.  I "competed" in a 5k.

The competition was with myself.

My goal was to make a time of a 10 minute mile, or a 6.0 speed on the treadmill.

To make that goal, I would have to run the 5k in 31 minutes.

That was my goal.

I finished in 28 minutes and 42 seconds!!!  That's a 9:15 mile!

I'm still basking in the glory of my run today.

Ahhhhhh.....

April Can Suck It Day

April Fools Day - worst.holiday.ever.

Ok, so this morning I was on the train... fell asleep on the train as per usual.  Didn't wake up when we got to Chicago.  Didn't wake up when everyone got off the train.  And didn't wake up when they LOCKED THE DOORS!  I was stuck on the train this morning, and having a pretty significant panic attack because I couldn't get out!  I felt like I was stuck in a nightmare... I was like 4 seconds away from calling the metra station itself but as we all know, organizations like transportation companies often don't have immediate access to the guys that can unlock you from the train.

So I did what anyone in a panic would do.  I walked from the back of the train to the front.  About two cars from the very front of the train, I pulled the Emergency Exit lever so that the doors would open.  The lever, when pulled, makes a shrieking, screaming sound, by the way.  Um yeah, I woke up this morning in a daze, on the train, locked in, adrenaline pumping, scared, and pulled the loudest emergency lever ever.

I got off the train and explained why I did what I did to an engineer/conductor.  He looked at me like I was crazy, and I certainly felt like it.

This is unfortunately not some prank I'm trying to pull on the likes of my blog readers.  This really happened to me this morning.  And I'm sharing it with the world to hopefully make peace with what happened and hope that it never ever happens again.

In other news, I'm super pumped for my 5k tomorrow!  I made yummy chicken for lunch!  And I'm doing some light cardio at the gym tonight before going to a FREE comedy show with fiance, an old co-worker and his girlfriend!
