I WILL!

Whew, you know when you've finished a big project at work and your life feels like it can finally resume?  I'm pretty relieved actually because I'm in that very state right now.

So anyways, a quick reflection on my week so far - I've been LAZY!  I'm not proud of it, but I haven't been eating that well either.  I feel kind of like a big ol bag of crap right now and I need to snap out of it!  Hopefully now that this monkey is off my back I'll be able to get things back to normal but my tiny little gym isn't going to reopen until TUESDAY!

Public Statement:  I WILL go to the rinky dink gym that's free in my apartment complex.  I WILL do both cardio and some resistance training.  I WILL do this every single day until my gym opens back up on Tuesday.

The hardest part about working out at this facility is that I usually go to my apartment first and it's just oh-so-cozy, and look- Judge Judy is on the DVR, and I have all those yummy things to snack on... or drink ;)  I get to wear my jammies and relax after a long day.  Laziness won't cut it and Future Elizabeth certainly won't be happy when I'm not looking and feeling awesome on my wedding day because of my behavior today.

Friday After Thanksgiving

I was reading an interesting list not too long ago, one of those email forwards that everyone can relate to but no one really vocalizes. I'll post the list in it's entirety below but today I wanted to focus on my favorite:

11. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you know that you just aren't going to do anything productive for the rest of the day.

The reason why this is especially hilarious is because today is the day after Thanksgiving so today is especially hard to concentrate.

First of all, it's Friday... My "moment of the day" comes far earlier on Friday than any other day of the week.

Second of all, there's literally 6 people in the office today.

Third, we're getting out at noon today.

This has basically pushed the threshold of my workability to zero. So I decided to blog about it, and it's not even that good of an entry if I do say so myself... I need to step up my game if I want people to actually read this :)

Anyways, enjoy the "Random Musings" below. For the record I had no part in writing this, I'm not taking credit for it but I think it's funny enough to share.

----------------------------------------------------------

1. I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die.

2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.

3. I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.

4. There is great need for a sarcasm font.

5. How are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?

6. Was learning cursive really necessary?

7. Map Quest really needs to start their directions on #5. I'm pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.

8. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.

9. I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired.

10. Bad decisions make good stories.

11. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you know that you just aren't going to do anything productive for the rest of the day.

12. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after BluRay? I don't want to have to restart my collection... again.

13. I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten-page research paper that I swear I did not make any changes to.

14. "Do not machine wash or tumble dry" means I will never wash this --ever.

15. I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello? Damnit!), but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to voicemail. What'd you do after I didn't answer? Drop the phone and run away?

16. I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not seeing anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste.

17. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.

18. My 4-year old son asked me in the car the other day "Dad what would happen if you ran over a ninja?" How do I respond to that?

19. I think the freezer deserves a light as well.

20. I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet on any given Friday or Saturday night more kisses begin with Miller Lite than Kay.

***For the record, I decided to experiment with colors today.

One Year Anniversary!

I had to make a choice early on whether or not I wanted to gripe on this blog or be more positive. Fortunately for you all I chose to be positive!!! Although the nature of this post may come off negative please understand that this is inevitably a happy story!

One year ago today I was laid off from my job at Bernstein... whew there it is! Now here's the scoop...

I'm sure everyone can relate to "real world" problems such as job conflicts so I'm not going to try and make this seem like a situation worse than others (rather I plan on keeping this story quite short), however I feel like my experience at this company was nothing short of reliving the drama and exclusion I felt in middle school. From the first day I felt their cold, unfriendly atmosphere. Since this blog is public I'm not going to get into the details of the personal events that transpired during my 15 months at this company.

Since I'm trying to keep this post positive I'm going to just move on to the happy ending (not the kind that can get you arrested).

I was laid off on a Thursday, Friday I was offered a temp job at Great Lakes Advisors starting on Monday. They went and hired me full time starting December 1st!!! I was so relieved to have a full time job again and with people that are fun to talk to and are FRIENDLY! I can't tell you how big of a difference this job has been compared to my old job! So in less than a month I will be celebrating my one year anniversary working at GLA as their Marketing Assistant!

The moral of the story, being laid off doesn't make or break your life. Odds are you're going to find something better. However, I do sympathize with everyone who is struggling during these hard economic times.

First Entry!

Wow, my first entry on my blog! I couldn't believe that just coming up with a name would be the hardest thing! I really wanted TheEasley.blogspot.com, but unfortunately some lucky jerk named "Todd" apparently beat me to the punch with this wonderful piece of blog fantastic-ness.

No blog posts yet??? Get on the ball, TODD! I'm just kidding of course, if he's an Easley (or just an Easley fan, or a resident of Easley, South Carolina) then we're cool.

Lets see, my main goal about this blog is to talk about my daily life, stuff that you may or may not find interesting such as weird dreams I have (speaking of which I had a dream last night about Desperate Housewives, I need to get a life), work frustrations (not that I have any!), fun nights I have out, and anything in between!
