Once again I neglect my blog...

I try to write more than once a week people, I really do, but things at work have been rather chaotic recently and I can't always put my thoughts down on paper in time for a good blog post/idea.

The fiance and I had a great weekend!  We were super productive in regards to wedding planning and we checked some rather big things off of our list including:
-Buying our wedding rings!
-Figuring out the style for the tuxedo's for the guys
-Ordering our INVITATIONS!

Yeah so I had my heart set on doing pocket invitations at one point but at the recommendation of a friend, I decided to go with a much simpler route.  The Seal-n-Send!  The beauty of this invitation is it's simplicity.  The sheet is long with creases that stagger along the length that designate where it needs to be folded, when it's all folded up, you throw a sticker on the invitation to seal it, address it and mail!  My favorite part is the fact that the bottom of the invitation is the response card with a serrated edge that can be ripped off and it's a post card!  VOILA!

If you plan on going this route, I highly recommend Ann's Bridal Bargains website.  I promise I'm not getting paid to sponsor them although if they wanted me to I just might!  What I liked about this website was that it was easy to design the invitations and see a preview.  Other websites I tried were very old and seemed kind of shady... so yeah!  They're coming in a few weeks/days/whatever... I'm just glad we're getting this done!

By the way, I don't care if it's uncouth or something, I totally included my wedding website on the invitation.  I couldn't find anything really regarding etiquette (except for pocket invites?) about including your wedding website on the card.

So now that we have these big things done/taken care of, I'm eager to start working on the smaller things.  I feel like the invitations and all that other stuff was some of the bigger things that needed to be taken care of.  The fiance and I now have to come up with an order for the wedding itself (the shorter the better in my opinion thankyouverymuch) and general order of the weekend.

Overall it's been exciting to plan so far and I'm excited for the big day, only 131 days away!

The Green Pimp - A Short Film

Hey bloggers!  As promised I have the link to the short film I was in.  There is good news and bad news, the GOOD news is that you get to see me play a prostitute, the bad news is you have to register to watch the film play.  The great news is that you can vote for "my" movie and if "my" movie gets enough votes those behind the film get a chance to have it played at Cannes Film Festival.  Yes THAT Cannes.  I will state this, forever and again that this was one of the funnest things I've ever done!

Forgive the goofy face, but it's hard to get a good one when you're chewing gum, just sayin'

Long Weekend!

Relax friends, I'm much less bummed out than I was last week.  Sometimes no matter what type of progress you make you still don't feel all that proud of yourself.  I was actually listening to a podcast recently where one of the main guys said that even though he's down several pant sizes and belt loop notches he still looks at himself as if he never made any progress to begin with.  That's basically how I felt.

This weekend certainly cheered me up!  This Easley was in a short film!  YES!  I made my acting debut in the 48 Hour Film Project where I played Candee, the mother of 4 prostitute with a 401k.  I had exactly one line and I'm fairly certain I'm going to be nominated for an Oscar.  The whole idea of being part of this project was just exhilarating!  First of all, as the name suggests, the entire thing was written, shot, and edited within 48 hours.  I honestly must have pulled a stomach muscle laughing so hard, the people were great, very welcoming, and super funny!  I didn't take any pictures even though I wanted to because I didn't want to slow down the process of filming.  Regardless, you'll be seeing my awesome video within a few short weeks!

In other news, I've completed a full week of training at Full Potential Fitness.  Yesterday was my 4th trip to the gym there and let me tell you I pushed myself SO hard, but I was assisted by my wonderful trainer, TJ, who helped me with form and motivation.  We've been typically working on upper body which is great because I never know how to work different muscles in my arms.  It feels great!

Yesterday, I had the day off for President's Day, thank you!  I certainly enjoyed having the long weekend but now I have to wait about 2 grueling months until my next work sponsored 3-day weekend.  With my time off I have less than 20 weeks until the wedding.  Time is FLYING by.  I still have about a jillion things to do!

Dresssssssssss

Ugh, so I just picked up my dress a little bit ago and I realized that I haven't really lost any weight since I bought it in November.  It still fits although it's a little snug for my taste.  Why is it that I feel like I'm busting my ass working out and eating all the right things but I just don't feel any different?

Depressed.

Hello Neglected Blog

G'day everyone!  Sorry for the long absence.  The fiance and I have had a busy two weekends.  First the future in-laws came to visit and we had a very fun weekend watching the Superbowl and going to the Field Museum in Chicago (to name a few things).

This is where you can get yourself some good 'zza in Chicago after a long day at the museum.

Me and the Fiance with Sue, the T-Rex!

This previous weekend included the oh-so-fun premarital counseling.  The Fiance and I drove back to Iowa for the weekend and were able to visit with a few friends, but yours truly forgot to bring her camera to record anything epic for the weekend.  But if you're lucky, you might find one of the videos a dear friend of mine took whilst I was singing some Karaoke!

News Flash:
This Easley is going to group training!  Not like group training classes, like zumba or anything, it's like personal training but in a group setting.  The gym I've decided to make my own (yes I am a gym WHORE) is Full Potential Fitness, they specialize in group training.  The owner, Jon, was a breath of fresh air!  He really made me feel comfortable!  The initial training package I purchased averages to just under $25/session which is an hour long.  My first session was on Monday and I'm still feeling sore!  My next training appointment is tonight!  Wish me luck readers :)

I am sorry for the silence, I'm not mad at you, it's just been crazy busy at work and my weekends were just making my schedule feel a little overwhelming!

Tick Tock

I would first like to announce this post isn't at all about Ke$ha.

Secondly, today is February 9th which means that 5 months from today I will be marrying the man I love :)

BUT for some reason I'm nearing a freak out point.  What have I done, what do I need to do still?  Are people going to come to the wedding?  What if too many show up?  What if no one shows up?  What if the DJ cancels?  What if the flowers die?  WHAT IF?!

I'm freaking out because for some reason 5 months to go seems like so much less than 6 months to go.  I know mathematically you might say DUH but when you're planning the biggest day of your life, 5 months just doesn't seem like enough time, whereas 6 months is perfectly comfortable.

I suppose I might have to write down a few things that the fiance and I need to do in order to calm down.

Thanks for listening... does anyone have any tips they could share?

You Can't Make This Stuff Up

I swear to you that this JUST happened to me.
Check out the security check word I needed to type!
Sorry the picture is so big it's running off the side of my blog, but I had to make it readable!

SNOW DAY!

So my dear friends... yesterday afternoon the snow began to fall...

This is a picture of the snow at night time using my flash.  I thought it looked really pretty!

Overnight I had a dream that the snow magically melted and when I rushed to the window I saw green grass and leaves on the trees.  This was obviously not the case!

I had the energy of a little kid on a snow day!  I had the fiance take a picture of me doing a snow angel in the snow that, at that point, had been at least 14" deep!

The snow felt so comfortable because I was all cozy in my big comfy coat and fluffy warm boots!

I'm pretending to be cold.  It's actually not THAT cold out, but it's definitely snowy!  I like how the snow just about gets up to wear the bottom of my coat ends!
The fruits of my labor... the snow angel!
I loved it so much I even brought some snow in with me!

How is everyone else enjoying their weather?  Any other snow days out there?

Chicago Blizzard

Soooo, getting home after work was a bit of a struggle...
For those of you who don't commute from the suburbs... this is what a really freaking full train looks like... typically no one stands on the stairs in the doorways...
 Or mobs into each entrance
The 3:45 train was soooo full...
It was one of the craziest things I've ever seen.  If you can't see, the interior of the train, there were people standing in allll of the aisles!
This is everyone stuffed into the train!  Normally that little area is free and clear of people
They announced a new train was opening up and there was yet another mob to the other platform.
This is what it looked like from inside the next train I actually made.  Those people had to stand the entire ride which normally doesn't happen... usually everyone gets a seat... like I did... I kind of felt bad about it...

Tomorrow is supposed to be the biggest blizzard in Chicago in a long time.  Guess I'm working from home tomorrow for the first time EVER!

UPDATE 8:36 PM
I forgot to mention that someone in this mess (while we were outside of the train) said that this was WORSE than the trains were on September 11th.
